Introduction

Welcome to the Colchester Diving Club website. We are a BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) branch based in Colchester, Essex. We also have links with the Colchester Sub Aqua Club (SAA), who are affiliated to us. We are open to divers of all levels from all organisations. We were formerly known as the North East Essex Sub Aqua Club (NEESAC) and have been in existence for over 50 years!

If you've ever wondered what it's like to go scuba diving, we offer 'try dives' in the swimming pool. We offer training so that you can become a qualified diver, with theory and practical training led by our experienced instructors.

We meet every Monday evening at 8 p.m. at Boxted Sports and Social Club, Cage Lane, Boxted, (click here for a map), to discuss past and future dives, for theory training, to fill our air tanks after our last dives (we have a compressor), and for general socialising!

We meet every Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. at Colchester Leisure World, Cowdray Avenue, Colchester, (click here for a map), for pool training, and socialising in the bar afterwards!

We arrange regular dive trips to inland water sites for training, to the South Coast and East Anglia Coast to dive on reefs and shipwrecks, and once or twice a year, further afield, such as the Red Sea and Spain.

Some dive shops will train you up and get you qualified, but then it can be quite difficult to arrange diving after that - especially if you just want to go diving for a day or weekend somewhere. In our club, our members generally want to do just that, so if you think you might be interested, why not come along! There is plenty of information on the site, so enjoy!
